Hi all,
I passed my state test a few weeks ago and was just hired by an agency in Jacksonville FL. I am meeting with my broker on Friday to sign the paperwork. I was told to bring along proof of my auto insurance, especially my 100/300/100 coverage. I called my insurance company and was told that i was not currently covered at those levels. Are the levels 100/300/100 the norm that is required by most brokers for agents that will be driving around customers?
Thanks!

Yes, many brokers will require that level of coverage. They want to be protected in case something happens to you, your passengers, or other people while doing "company" business.

I've also seen brokers requiring agents to add them as an "additional insured".

I was at whatever our state requires us to carry at minimum, then I bumped it up. It did not raise the premium that much. The one that makes a larger difference is change the deductibles....

Think about how quickly you can blow through 300,000 with an accident. I actually got a $1,000,000 balloon that covers extra on my home and auto above the limits. It only costs me something like $300 and it's worth the peace of mind!!!
