I'm not one to jump to conclusions and begin to bad-mouth without cause, but, I wanted to warn any prospective agents about realestatetestprep.com. I wanted to prepare myself for my up coming state exam by using a study aid of some sort. Of the MANY, MANY pieces of mail I've received from either R.E. offices and training entities, I decided to purchase realestatetestpreps.com's 90 day sales license course. After having some hang ups with their "online" study aid order form, I called their contact number (which coincidentally is now gone from their site) to clear up the situation with someone on their end. The man I spoke to apologized for the inconvenience and offered to set me up over the phone, I agreed. He also said he would discount me $5.00 for the inconvenience so I accepted that too. Long story short - they charged me twice. One charge for the full price of $34.99 and a second charge (which apparantly reflects the $5.00 discount) of $29.99. It should've been only $29.99 with the discount. I've tried emailing them and calling them but they refuse to contact me. I've given them plenty of time to reimburse me but that has not happened either. It's not a huge amount they ripped me off for but it still does not make it right. I will probably contact Consumer Affairs to see what they can do for me, they've helped me in the past. Realestatetestprep.com supposedly has an office at 9000 Sunset Blvd. #415 Hollywood, Ca. 90069 and their phone number is 323-969-8589 P.S. - to top it off, the study aid is FULL of typos, questions that don't make sense (even by R.E. exam standards) and omitted words and in a couple of cases, I believe their answers to a couple of questions are wrong. CAVEAT-EMPTOR!

The way I prepared for my test was building a website with some of the vocabulary and questions. I found typing it out helped me out a lot. I took my test a few days after I finished going to RE school (and of course passed). The site is still up and I decided to expand it several months ago and added every state. I was actually hoping people would add information and questions from their states. If you'd like to add your questions and post up notes for the test you can go to http://realestateinsider.net it's sorted by state. It helped me pass the test. I really do think the best way of passing the test is working with the material you have and writing out some of the parts you might have a problem with.

Ricardo S, Dispute the charges with your credit card company.Let them resolve the problems for you. Explain that you have attempted several times to contact the company but the problem was not resolved. Bet the company returns your calls then!

You should stick to established vendors like Allied or Lumbleau for Real Estate Materials. They may not be the cheapest, but they have been around long enough to gain the respect of the Real Estate community. There's alot of charlatan organizations out there, so it's best to stick with proven winners.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
