I figure some agents on the US take for granted all the licensing plattform you have. You really need to go through working on a completelly non regulated market like mine (meaning no MLS, no exclusives..yes all open listings! wild west style, only the tough and the sharps make it alive...lol) to apprecciate all the nice system you have in place on the States

Our company has agents working who are either licensed US realtors or members of the Costa Rica Real Estate Brokers Board. But that's a rarity...the same reason why people who buy from John Doe who overnight decide that he was into real estate end up with land that will never get buiding permits, or subdivisions with no municipality approvals or farms that are enviromentally protected and can't be develop or land sold more than once, or condos sold as being part of a corporation but the corporation has debt carryover...So I took the long way to answer your question, yes any bozzo can be a realtor or a broker depending on his abilities to print cards because there's no legal background for our profession, on the commerce code the closest description to a real estate agent will be a comisionista (somebody earning his living out of comissions). There's great opportunities for people who want to do things right, that being said we have a great referral program in place for realtors, and once again our members and founders are licensed Realtors in Nevada, members of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, therefore we can handle all of your real estate needs here in Costa Rica with the same professionalism you are accustomed to in the US
