I was just wondering if anyone in the Atlanta area has any advice or insight about Harry Norman Realtors? I am getting ready to take the test for my residential sales license and I have not yeti nterviewed any of the agencies in the area, but Harry Norman seems to have a large presence locally and from looking at the information on their website they seem to have good training and a mentoring program as well, but there is no mention on their site of the commission split or fees. I plan on interviewing with some of the nationally known agencies in the area and some of the local ones as well. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Harry Norman is a pretty good outfit. Last year, they got acquired by another company (the name escapes me, it is owned by Berkshire Hathaway). This company also owns Jenny Pruitt. So, the parent company has two market presences in Atlanta.
I believe that their commission structure tops out at about 70%. They pay for a good part of your overhead, but are very stringent when it comes to what you can do as an agent. If you lower your commission, you may have to pay them their split on the full commission. I have heard they are pretty controlling when it comes to personal promotion, too.
I have a bunch of information about most of the brokerages in Atlanta. If you would like, send me a private message.

I am also relocating to Georgia. I am currently with Keller Williams but might consider going to another company.

When I became a Realtor three years ago, I interviewed with Metro Brokers and Coldwell Banker. Coldwell Banker (Smyrna)was the best company to start off with because their monthly fee was the lowest hands down and their training was great. I stayed with them for two years and left because I was ready to start working for a 100% broker. I would recommend to any new agents to start with Coldwell Banker.

How can you make such a recommendation? This person may be nowhere near Duluth! I don't make blind recommendations and I have been in the business for a while.

And let me add- I admire KW as a company and have done deals with great KW agents... However, if you use the statistics from KW's home page, you can see that each agent averages $750 per year in extra income from the profit sharing program. In the Atlanta market, KW's desk fees are $18,000 per year with a 70/30 split. My fees are $500 per transaction with a maximum of $10k per year. So, if you max out under both programs, you would make $7250 more per year ($18k (KW fee)- $10k (My Fee)- $750 (avg KW bonus)=$7250).

Admirable. Why, then, don't you know that KW Atlanta Partners has offices and agents all over Atlanta, not just Sugarloaf?
And not to split hairs, but your home page says, "If the Neighborhood Company REALTORS® fails to produce a buyer for your home within 90 days of the listing agreement, The Neighborhood Company REALTORS® will reduce your listing-side commission by 67%." I interpret "Reduce...by 67%" to be a commission discount which is what I meant.

Yeah, the website is old.. I am no longer actively trying to get listings... However, in the few months I ran that promo, I got 8 listings. We never had to make good on the guarantee. Everything sold at full commission and within the 90 day window.
Offering a guarantee like that does not constitute discount. It is just what it says- a guarantee of our service.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
