The public knowns nothing of designations. They only impress other agents. Since there is no money in impressing other agents why bother.

The designations are worth the knowledge you gain from the classes if you bother to use what you learn. The classes also count for CE so that is another reason to take the classes.
Get your GRI first and then go from there. I am currently working on my CCIM.
Rocket is not seeing the referral side of the designation. CRS agents tend to refer their out of town buyers to other CRS agents.

I am only eCertified through Prudential. I also agree that the more designation classes you take, the more knowledge you will have in certain areas. I plan on taking the CCIM class sometime soon. I believe my company requires it for any commercial transactions.

Yes... some designations require dues to be paid. Some have a one time fee (like the ePro thing), others have a yearly membership fee.

Knowledge is good. Not to mention, some Realtors refer valuable clients to agents whom possess that knowledge. If I am refering a client or a friend and Realtor A has designations and Realtor B doesn't...my referral goes to Realtor A.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
