Because I have heard things about her from 3 different agents now. Twice from 2 diff. agents from same company just another office in our area, and now from a former employee who has left and is going elsewhere.

Each thing I have heard about wasnt very detailed, but the one former employee wants to talk to me about a few things; how they were charged for all sorts of stuff, how they have been juked out of their commission, and how the family operates (Mother, father, & daughter are all agents...might even be more).

Now that this is the 3rd time I have heard about stuff like this about my broker/office, I am concerned. I have come too far (even though I just got my license) to get swindled somehow. I cant afford it, and wont accept it.

The first 2 things I heard I thought about it, but took it as general Real Estate fare. But now that this is coming from someone who has just left because of this...I am concered.

Ok with out knowing much more it is kind of hard to weigh all your concerns. Have you joined this firm yet? If so, did they give you a packet that outlined the fee's you would be charged and the comissions you would incur? I think if there are fees' that were charged to these agents that they were not aware of maybe they must have not read the fine print. If this is truly junk fee's being added on. I am surprised the broker has not had a complaint filed against them. WOuldn't this be an illegal thing to do? Really don't know without knowing more info. Bottom line. If you are unsure and have a bad feeling about this then why join? What is the motivating factor that has or had you wanting to join? Have you not checked out other brokers?

How to react to stuff like this really depends on who you are.

For me, I would sit down in the office with this broker and lay it out. I would start by saying, "Some things have come to my attention that leave me concerned and I was hoping you might be able to explain them to me." Then give him what you have heard. Omit any details that would give away any sources or betray any confidences. However, make it clear that what you are saying is not coming from one person. In fact, say something like "If this was coming from one source, I would dismiss it immediately, but it's not."

If he wants to talk about it, and you feel comfortable and read the situation that there might just be some personal foibles involved here and think you want to stay, I would ask for some additional assurances in writing that would prevent you from being taken advantage of as others have - just in case.

Now, if I had heard these kinds of things about my brand new broker that I really don't know very well from folks whose opinion I value and trust, I would simply do exactly as I said above, but end it with "and I would like my license back now please".

not to add to your problem, but the broker I met with last night referred to Keller-Williams as the 'Amway of real estate'
