Hello, I am 17 years old and I would love to get my RE license when I turn 18 and work part time while im in school. Anyways, I was wondering if online classes are any good and if so, what is a good website for doing it? I live in a small town in Michigan and I thought it would be good for me to work part time while in school so by the time I graduate college, I will have had experience in the RE profession and have a better chance of getting hired.

Its a great idea. I did both my salesperson's and broker's course through an online/software course.

Contact your state's licensing board and get a list of approved schools. Research those schools to see who has the best online application.

See if you can get a job as a part time assistant once you get licensed and you will be prepared when you graduate college.

I would totally agree, look for an 'apprentice' role where you can do CMAs and set appointments for an experienced agent.

You may want to take this to a different level.

You have a unique opportunity here since your starting so young. You could look into internships with big deveopers, builders, etc. Of course, working with folks in the mainstream real estate business would be helpful, but imagine the things you could learn by getting involved with some of the bigger players.

BEWARE!

Rule #1. Do not discourage yourself when things get tough. Working part time will be hard because the market has changed. It is not something that will fall in your lap anymore. When things get rough on you, keep on going. You will need to put a lot of time and effort into that part of your life in order to succeed. Just have faith in yourself. Good luck.

Thanks everyone... ya the working now while im in school is really not about the money its just so I will have more experience when I become a full time agent after college in Naples Florida
