Hi everyone, I'm new to all this real estate stuff and just started going to classes on it 2 days a week. Have 2 months worths of monday and wednesday nights to go before I'm done then I'm able to take a quick prep class for the test.

That said........

I have a few friends that work as brokers and managers. One is at remax and the other at coldwell banker. Both have invited me to be apart of their teams after I pass the exam. What confidence (:

I know there are alot of different options out there for a newbie agent and I havent really asked to many questions about all this yet.

Can anyone tell me what the major differences are between the two companys I mentioned above and possibly offer me some advice on which company I might be better off with?

I know some companys charge you a rent fee plus commission, some just commission. But who charges what and what company has the best training etc for future advancement?

I'd also like to hear about any other companys and what they have to offer also.

Thank you very much for any insight!

Robert.........

Rob,

the best thing you can do is to interview with multiple brokerages. you will see the differences in how they do business right away. then you could make your decision off of that. when you interview with a company, it will be like a 2-way interview. they ask you questions to see if they want you in their company and you will ask them questions to see if that is the right company. if you search this forum, you will find what kind of questions to ask these companies. and remember, not every franchise is going to be the same. for example, if you interview with a century 21 franchise, it doesnt mean that all of the other century 21 franchises in the area do the same things.

from what i understand, remax is a good company, but it is not for the new agent. coldwell banker is somewhat the same from what i heard. century 21 is great with their training. prudential is great with training. nobody here can really tell you what companies give oyu what, because like i said before, every franchise is different. hope this helps.

Thank you Len,

So far I have received one personal email from a well known company explaining what they offer new agents and how they work in general. Thank you BTW to that sender.

What I would like is some more of those emails and or replys with the basics of what I can expect and or what to watch out for etc.

Thank you again!

Interview with as many brokerages as you can. Do not spin your wheels too fast or you will regret it later. Check out www.realestatecareersecrets.com they have a great section on brokerage interviewing help

Exit Realty offers 70/30 split, no desk fees and any agent you recruit you get 10% of their commissions off the brokers side. And health insurance from the mortgagee side. And you can do loans.
