Hello, all! I am new to this board and would like some advice, if you don't mind. I am thinking of becoming a realtor and would like to know what I should look for in an agency. I have two in mind....Prudential Gardner and Latter & Blum. I'm not sure what the important things are to look for in order to decide btw. the two. I will be interviewing with both soon. What questions should I be asking to help me make this decision? Thanks in advance! Brea

Search through Aspiring Agents specifically which isn't very large. We've covered this topic a couple of times so there are lots of helpful questions to ask potential brokers. Good Luck!

Hello Brea! By now you have probably found a Broker to work for, congrats! This can be the toughest and most rewarding career there is. Good Luck! We are all rooting for you!

Hmmmmm I see a pattern with your posts. Do you actually think you are the only KW agent on the forum? Enough with the attempts to add to your downline. This is a place to discuss real estate and not for KW & Exit agents to recruit! Originally posted by Keller Williams Agent: brea, the first thing I would look for is which compnay would pay you the most for sales and if there operating expenses are inexpenses and if they have profit sharing to share with agents. If you have questions e-mail me at patj@kw.com

So do they teach this to new agents in training? Hate to break the facts to you but each office is totally different. Different broker and different procedures. I am not saying KW is a good fit for some agents but it is not the best fit for all agents. What I am saying is an agent is foolish if they do not interview several brokers before deciding on a broker. Do you see the veteran KW agents of these forums attempting to recruit with every post? Back to the original post:
Brea- The office you choose should be comfortable to you, your skill level, and your expectations of income. Each office is different. When I was with CB, we had 2 offices within 2 miles. They were run completely different. So, talk to a bunch of companies, decide which one makes you happiest, and go for it.
Patrick- I will reiterate what Paul said- You never see the veteran KW agents trying to recruit on here. If you want a career in recruiting- go work for a temp agency or get a job in HR.
FYI- KW's recruitment plan is not intended to be a main source of income. It is purely supplemental income.
99% of the agents on here have more experience than you and we all are aware of KW and what it has to offer.
To attempt to actively recruit under the premise of "simply stating the facts" is not only dishonest, it is downright cheesy.

If it makes any difference, I was never looking to join Keller Williams anyway. My choices are Prudential Gardner and Latter & Blum. So, recruit all you want...it makes no difference to me. This post was not meant to start fights btw. agents. It was to get advice.

Ask about floor time, if you need alot of hours, you need to know who will give them to you. If you dont know alot of people that will be potential customers for you, your floortime will be crucial to you. And how much training they will give you. I worked for c21 and we had too many agents and I was miserable, no hours and alot of in house competition. Expense is a big thing too, what do you get paid, what do you have to pay...SO many agents end up working other jobs whne they dont make enough money in Real estate, you need to know what your up against. SO many brokers will make themselves sound so good, try talking to there agents and ask them how they like working there, anything they would change about the place? Agents will complain alot of they hate something about there company...What companies the top selling in town? How does office look, clean fairly nice? If it's not well kept and clean the company may not have much money, and it'll hurt you. Nothing sucks more if your boss aint got any money.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
