I took the NYS exam in June, but I'm hesitant to leave my full-time job for the real estate industry because of the costs I'll incur.

1) Can anyone give me a COMPLETE BREAKDOWN of all the costs I'll be responsible for (i.e. insurance, mls)?

2) Which company should I purchase insurance from?

3) Is renting apartments in the city a better way for me to start out since it seems a lot easier to rent an apartment in NYC than sell a house in the five boroughs???

Talk to an agent or broker at your local office.

You might get lucky and someone from your state will answer your question here, but your best bet is to ask someone who actually did it in the area your thinking about doing business in.
