Start a blog, visit some local builders with your digital camera and ask if you can interview them about their latest homes for sale and write about it on your blog.

Once you get them to talking that should break the ice and establish you as a good guy that wants to help and learn.

Ask them if they have any homes you could hold open for them or what you could do to earn some of their business.

I saw you wrote in a post you're 18. You definately look 18 in that picture. I would try to take one thats a little closer up, just a headshot. You are kind of hunched over in that picture and you don't look confident.

Well, Chris if you do a search of the forums you will find plenty of information on how to market yourself better. But just to throw some out there.. You can send letters to your SOI letting them know your in the real estate business. Get your family involved too. Have your mom tell all her friends and at family events get to talking about what you are doing. Remember now that your in the business you always have to mention that your in the business. When I first started I didn't tell everyone right away, and when I finally did a lot of my friends either didn't know or had just bought a house and said they would have rather had me (someone they knew) take the business. When you go out take your cards with you so you can hand them out if need be, or just hand them out. The other day I was getting my hair cut and I mentioned I was a Realtor to the lady cutting my hair and we talked a little and turns out she and her husband would like to sell their home real soon ( next 2 or 3 months). So she asked for my card and said she would call me when she is ready to sell, of course the thing to do know is to follow up with her and maybe send her a packet or letter thanking her for my hair and again letting her know to feel free to call on me if she has any questions or wants to sell. Some times you have to go the extra step and it will pay off. But like you will find out in this business you have to be consistent and feel confident in what you know even if your not quite sure. People do not expect you to know everything. But they do expect you to be honest and sure of yourself to let them know when you don't. Just be sure to assure them that what you don't quite know you will be able to find out for them right away. And then go do it!!!
