I plan to transition to a real estate career over about a 4 year period during which I will continue to work my full time job and real estate at the same time. The plan is that by then the combination of my real estate investments along with income from being an agent will be enough for me to drop the full time job.

I would like to hear from those agents that do, or have, successfully worked real estate part time, while holding down another full time job. I have seen all of the threads that argue the good and bad points of part timing it, I understand the pros and cons. What I'd like is to hear from those of you that are or have been successful at doing both and what makes it work for you.
