This is an update to an earlier thread. I just thought I would let everyone know that I took my class through careerwebschool.com and passed my MI exam with a 99% correct.

The bad: This class takes WAAAY more than the indicated 40 hours. I was going through it extremely fast (since I already knew most of the material) and it took me about 60 hours. That's as fast as the powerpoint will go due to all the stupid animations.

The worse: This course is very poorly organized. I took the wrong exam (somehow it let me do this) and when I called the school (after wasting three hours of my time) they said "oh, don't click THERE, click HERE!". So frustrating. I will spare you all the details, other than to say I would recommend a different school if you should desire to take an online course.

Congrats on your test!

I took my test today and passed scoring in the 90's too! I took the class with an instructor though, and knew almost nothing about the material until I started reading the book.

How do you know what percent you got? AMP only tells you that you pass. If you fail then they tell you your % and what areas you need to study again

AMP told me exactly what score I got on the nat'l portion, and on the state portion. It even broke down into categories (ex. Selling 17/17) for us.

I am currently taking my prelicense course with Allied Career Schools...I almost did the career web school..but this school is one of the ones recommended by TREC.....texas state RE commision

It is tough..taking longer than I thought..(duh)lol...I am excited and pumped about finishing and the possibility of making a good income finally....I am used to making around $300 a week so it wont take much to top that...

Congrats I passed Ca recently too. I don't know my score for some reason Ca only tells you if you pass or not. It would tell you before because my father took it 20 years ago and barely passed by 2 points. But I think everyone who studies any material will take more than what the package promises in terms of time. That is those who study it well at their own pace. What I don't like about the online courses is the books are digital so you have to print them out to read all 500 pages.

Holy moly.

Got a letter from the State of MI regarding my license application. They had no record of me completing the exam. After many phone calls and much frustration, I learned that the careerwebschool online exam is not authorized to be the "final" exam in Michigan. You MUST go to an AMP testing center and complete their test.

Now it has been a month since I've reviewed any of the material, and I'm extremely upset. Everything I was told over the phone by the school was incorrect.

I purchased an online practice exam from AMP's website and scored an 88/100. There were property management questions which was material NOT COVERED in my course, but I still got 10/12 right in that section. Most of my mistakes were in the "listing" section.

So do you guys think that if I passed with an 88% I should be okay on the exam? I'm a little nervous now, I don't know which ones I got wrong or why. Also there must be a state-specific portion that was not covered in the practice test. Any help or opinions are appreciated!

You are correct. The Careerweb School is to satisfy your pre-license training only. You still have to take the state exam. I found them good at covering and drilling the information but like you said, it took forever. My wife did the instructor based training and they concentrate more of what will actually be on the exam as opposed to everything. It took me a lot longer but I feel I got more out of it.
