Hi all,

I'm currently working for a lender here in Florida. Like all companies, there are some types of loans we just don't do. I just passed my Florida Mortgage brokers Licensing Exam (got a 97...w00t!) and I'm looking for information on net branches. I'd like to set up with a company that will allow me to fill the gaps where my current company falls short. I'd also like to be able to originate loans in all 50 states. I have lots of family in NY and NJ and my current company doesn't originate in those states. (although we do loans in 27 states total.)

I'm not looking to quit my company. I like the work environment and the people are great, especially my boss who is teaching me a lot. but I also want to be able to help just about anyone who comes my way.

I've been reading about Carteret Mortgage, but I'd like to know of any other companies you folks might have heard of or are familiar with.

Any and all replies are appreciated. And feel free to try to sell me something. I'm looking for an education here.

thanks in advance,

Dan

Our company signed up with Western Thrift and Loan. They allow us to close loans in almost all 50 states and the fee they charge us is not too bad.

Hi RA,

When you say "my company", do you mean your company was approved as a broker? If so, that's not what I mean. I'm looking for companies that will allow me to work for/with them by hanging my license with them. If WT&L does that, could you post their contact info?

Thanks.

My old broker was signed-up through a company called Columbia Trust, I can't find there website so I doubt that this will do you any good, but if someone else has it maybe they can share. They were kinda slow though.

Yes my company was approved as a broker to do business with them. I think the pay structure is like $500 or 10% of fees, which ever is greater. You can call them at 951-280-1700 if you're interested. They do have a quarterly goal you need to meet though.
