Greetings

I see by these posts that unethical behavior is nothing new in any area.

I have a sad story:

http://scammedinmaine.blogspot.com/

and if anyone has anything to offer that might help, I would be very grateful

Thank you very much.

Did you have a home inspection done for the property? A home inspector would have found most of these problems and you wouldn't be in this predicament.
I would contact every local paper, national paper and news agency if you can't afford a lawyer.

I feel for you, but I have to say your Hepa circle and sleeping with your head on a window sill, and the neon machine totally creeped me out! If it does not require a RE License to sell mobile/manu homes I would think the simple explanation would be to get a regular lawyer rather than an RE lawyer and sue the sh*t out of the dirtbag "realtor" I use that term lightly...

TeamList - Yes I had an inspector - a crook who was recommended by the realtor.

Prodigy -
Thank you. YOu can bet that it creeps me out more than it does you, and it's starting to make me sick. Unfortunatley, the home isn't worth enough top warrant the cost of a lawyer, and lawyers around here don't want to take them on.

This area is apparently weel known for this sort of thing. I would not have believed it was possible in this day and age, but these are very sleazy people.

Lost in Maine,
If you read back in my posts I am totally ANTI-NAR. They don't give a hoot about you or anyone else screwed by a Realtor. All they care about these days is the turnstile door caledl the real estate career industry. Agents go in, get raped for every dollar they have by NAR then out they go.

I am completely sickened by it. There really is no such thing as a Code Of Ethics, it is just a vial they use to collect money and deceive the general public.

Wow.

And I believe every word.

I recently left a job at a large electronics firm because I was told by my boss to lie to customers. Until this particular manager, the company would just fire anyone who didn't lie. But she was the first to come right out and instruct me to do so.

No wonder that I just got another letter from NAR, blowing me off again. Aren't they worried about litigation for false advertising, what with all these stupid commercials they're airing??!

This is not something that the NAR handles. This is up to the state Division of RE, and the local board that this Realtor is a member of, they are the bodies that deal w/issues & disciplinary actions.

Here's a twist;

The Realtor was representing the seller, not the buyer. Signals where loud and clear. A fragrance spray which covered the nicotine which covered the mold isn't very plausible. At some point you proceeded with the sale despite the obvious.

Buck up, burn it down, and move on.

The mold was dormant, because that is what mold does when it stays very cold for a week or more. And even without the fragrance spray, the nicotime would have covered up the mold smell. He smoked a lot.

But here's another twist.

I requested a mold inspection, loud and clear. The crooked agent thought about it for a minute, and then decided to break the law by denying me my request.

He knew there was a problem.

He then colluded with a crooked house inspector to intentionally ignore several serious problems which would render the home unsellable.

Because this man is a thief and a lyar, I lost my life's savings. I LOST MY HOME. I burned all my bridges down south. I'm 60 years old. Where will I move TO?

Try living on the street yourself, and see how philosophical you'd like to be about it.

It's because people roll over and play dead and allow crooks to get away with these things, that they keep on doing it.

The mold issue was a problem here in Texas for about 3 years. It has now died off and we no longer hear much about it. Mold has been part of our enviroment basically forever. RV's, mobile homes, campers, they all leak. They all get mold inside when they leak. More than likely, no matter what mobile home you buy, it's a peice of junk in under 10 years. Next time try one with out wheels. I think your blog is a big log of digested sour apples.

ALTA - Sorry I reacted so much to your original post. Everyone up here blames the victim, too, and it really got to me. But you're right that I was a fool, and have to accept the consequences.

I do feel as though I have to let the world know. These people feel that they can lie all they want, but as long as anyone believes the lies, then the lies are true. I wonder where their heads are at. (I think I know)

The scam was straight off of "Dukes of Hazzard", and the main reason I fell for it is because I didn't think anyone could be so backward or obviously crooked in this day and age. A triple whammy.

But this forum has proven that there are some honest realtors out there. They know that just because the whole world seems to be crooks now, this doesn't mean that it's OK.

Thanks for those clarifications on the NAR. It saved me time and trouble.

Find a way to move forward because that is all that we can do. Just because you have an agent it does not mean that you are protected. I am learning that you can't trust an agent completely to handle a transaction blindly. You need to be proactive. You need to be on top of things. You need to become educated in these matters because reality is your agent might not be. Buyer beware. It ultimately is your responsibility to make sure that everything is going right that this is the right deission for you. At some point you have to just go on with life because no one else will do it for you. If you spend too much time being angry over this it will consume every part of your life. Is it wrong? Yes. Is it a shame? Yes. Now what? It only destroys your life if you let it.

You don't have to tell me how bad anger is for me. I'm sitting here, sick as a dog--- lost my voice -- and I KNOW it's mostly from anger.

God will get the crooked realtor. (Or my lawyer will...)

Other people have lived through worse. Look at New Orleans. That was an act of God, and you can't sue him.

Thanks for the kind words.
