Any opinions on the Certified New Home Specialist course? I'm taking CRS classes right now and will be one short at the end of the year. I saw that I can have up to two online courses and this certification is about $400. You can spend almost $800 if you get the full package.

I'm just not sure if the certification is worth it or if any of you have opinions in specializing in new homes. Here is the site.

If you sell a lot of new home builds, I don't see why it wouldn't be worth it.

I looked into it and it was for agents who really want to work with builders. I'm not very interested in that right now, but may take the training to get the CRS.

Dee,
If you do not have any construction background then the CNHS would be worth it. It will give you a better understanding on new construction and will help you better represent your buyers and will also give you a leg up when trying to get that builders listing as he will be confident you understand new construction problems.

Dee, it's something that I've been interested in since my little detour as a new home sales consultant. I would especially do it if it were going to get me one step closer to my CRS designation.

I know there is a company that advertises in my Re/Max magazine that offers it on a CD format. Let me know if you're interested and I'll pass on the info to you.

Sounds like this is a win/win. Even though I don't really work with buyers, it would help get me a better understanding of the construction process, which I could use for clients or myself as an investor.

I saw one company that offers it online, but wasn't sure if there was another. $400 seemed like a lot, but I've spent so much this year on classes, I guess one more can't hurt.
