I showed this house (my buyer) with the listing agent, who also works in my office, then found out a few days later that the buyers had called me at work and I was out, no one gave them my cell number, so the other agent told them she could write the contract, so does this mean I am completely cut out of the deal. She has been avoiding me and I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone.Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't be. Go up to them and ask them directly. Talk with your managing broker. If they cut you out of the deal you should go find someone else to work for... IMHO.

1. Take it to your broker. 2. Give your clients your cell phone in the future.

That would not be tolerated in this office. The other Broker/Agent would be out the door! (I've seen it happen)

Go directly to your broker. File an ethics complaint with your DBPR. That commission belongs to you and you alone! Don't let this other agent get away with it.

You sound like a wannabe who couldn't run with the big dogs I'll have to disagree with the "big dogs" generalization. I worked with RE/MAX for two and a half years and I saw this happen quite often. As a matter of fact, when it finally happened to me, that's when I left. The Qualifying Broker was doing this to agents in the same office! Nice, huh? I know that this should not be considered the norm for all RE/MAX agencies, but I've heard this same story and the big balloon seems to have a part in the story many times. I have many good friends who work with different RE/MAX offices & are ethical, so I'm not saying that everyone associated with or RE/MAX in general is unethical! There are sorry excuses for agents in every area and agency, no matter the franchise. Scott

You have to remember that each Re/Max office is a seperate brokerage. People will get away with what is allowed. If that broker allows agents to do things that might not seem ethical you can always look at other brokerages. WE have more re/max brokerages here in southern Ohio than you can imagine and some of the brokers themselves are not to ethical when it comes to renting out desk space.

What's a "DBPR"??? Unfortunately you cannot file an ethics complaint against someone in your own firm. You need to take this to the broker ASAP. I'm betting your did not have any sort of buyer agency agreement with these buyers.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
