I was considering working for Remax after little success with my Broker. Can someone tell me their experience with Remax please. I am in California, they charge a $400.00 montly fee for working for them. Is it worth it? Thanks for your answers in advance

$400.00 sounds way too low for Re/Max. What's the split?

$400.00 For RE/MAX!
That is awesome! I pay right around $20K per year. That does NOT include any advertising.

I'd really like to know what type of training is offered, and if you like the company. My understanding from talking to a broker from Remax is that there is a $400.00 monthly fee and a $400.00 franchise fee that is paid yearly. I was told that the company is very supportive and offers a great program for agents. My company (Not a Remax)offers very little training and between both brokers you get different answers on a subject. Makes it a little confusing. They also take a large portion of our commission for E&O and franchise fees. We pay for all our advertising, ect for a tiny add that runs in the paper with all the other agents photos on it. Only one day a week in the news paper and the comp offers no other advertising for our company. I'm thinking about moving on.

I talked to a RE/Max here in MN and the split was very great. I would have gotten 99% fo my commission. But I also would have had to pay 850.00 a month to share an office or 1000.00 a month for my own office. I would have had to pay for all of my advertising and we all know how spendy that can be. And my copies, my paper, my pens , my paper clips, anything and everything would have come out of my pocket. Now I have not even included the francise fee or any of the E&O cost.
And, I would have had to do the mentor program, which is wonderful for some, but because of this, you would only get like 60% of your commission, but you still have to pay for everything.
What I am trying to say is that for me it was the wrong AVE to take, but yours sounds like it will be alot cheaper. SO make sure that you have asked all of the questions that you feel needs to be asked and then make a choice. Good Luck with whatever you decide!!!
Amanda
By the way, I have nothing against RE/Max, it just really was too spending for me. I have a lot of friends that do work for them and are doing great.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
